This is Centroid's one piece motion control board. This single circuit board incorporates 3 major CNC components integrated onto one 8" X 16" circuit board. First, the motion control engine which carries out servo motion commands received from the PC software. This part also monitors the encoder feedback and corrects for out of position errors. Second, there are 3 servo drivers sending power to each axis servo motor. Third, part is the PLC which monitors sensor inputs and executes relay outputs. Placing everything onto one sleek design has dramatically reduced the manufacturing costs saving you thousands of dollars. What size machine does this CNC control kit fit?

1, 2, or 3 axis machine tools with existing DC servo motors. This control board can be setup for milling, drilling, router, laser, water jet, plasma, or customized machine applications. Can also be loaded with turning software for lathes. What size and type of servo motor will work with this control kit?

TYPE: Most any permanent magnet DC servo motor from 24VDC to 175VDC. If your motor is listed as higher than 175VDC this kit should still control your motor but it may not reach full RPM. (full RPM is rarely achieved anyway). The second qualification is your DC servo motor must have an encoder.

Usually these are found under the rear cover. If your motor does not have an encoder it should be a simple task to add this.

We recommend replacing old encoders with higher resolution units for better accuracy and performance. SIZE: is limited by the motor's power requirements.

The All in 1 servo drives will power motors up to 40/lbs - 4.5N/m - or 15 amps continuous. Some motors will have two values listed. SERVO MOTORS ARE NOT STEPPER MOTORS. If you are looking at a low cost hobby machine with stepper motors be aware that these motors will need to be upgraded to Servo motors before using this control kit.

The All in 1 board set will control reversing contactors typically used when the spindle has a variable speed pulley head. OR - If your machine uses a VFD to control the spindle motor speed, this All in 1 board can provide programmable spindle speed. Aside from the machine, you (or us) will need to supply a PC computer with Windows 7 or 8, Keyboard, LCD display, optional mouse, servo power supply, E-stop contactor, wire and misc.

What is included in this CNC control kit? The Centroid All in 1 board set and the CNC control software with standard PLC programming. Hand held push button jog pendant. Printed programming manual, and download links for the component hardware manual, installation manual, and other specific technical information when requested. Each component goes through a full regiment of testing including vibration and high temperature cycling.

We have installed these controls for over 15 years. Only once can I recall receiving a board that was DOA. It is easy to detect damage from a short circuit or over voltage condition. Look over your machine and pick out the encoder cables, servo power supply, E-stop contactors. If finding these items is too difficult then you should find someone to assist you or have your control professionally installed.

All electronic components can be sensitive to static discharge, mishandling, stray voltages, lightning, and many other conditions that have the potential for doing damage. When you return a component it must be cosmetically like new. For the sake of our own reputation we must retest each component prior to repackaging and reselling.
