Here's how it works: A waterproof sensor is installed in the body of water at the waterline, a controller is mounted outside the pool near the equipment and the fill line, and a valve actuator is installed on the fill line. The waterproof LevelSmart Sensor installed at the water level wakes up every 30 minutes to measure the current water level of your pool, spa, or water feature. It wirelessly communicates this information to the Controller, which opens the valve if it senses the water is low. The Controller will open the Valve for 7 minutes, allowing water to fill your pool. To prevent over-filling, the Valve Controller automatically shuts off the Valve after 7 minutes. This fail-safe mechanism ensures that your pool remains at the desired level without any risks. When the Wireless Level Sensor calls for water, the Valve Controller will open the Valve for 7 minutes, allowing water to fill your pool.

Positioned at the desired water level within the pool, the discreet LevelSmart sensor wirelessly communicates with the LevelSmart valve controller to perform operation of an automatic valve. The LevelSmart sensor will wake up every 30-minutes, take the current water level measurement, and wirelessly communicate the information to the valve controller. When necessary, the controller will open the valve and fill for 7-minutes. The sensor will continue to check the water level every 30-minutes. The reliable solenoid valve is installed in the return line after the filter system and before any chemical feeders using a "T" fitting or saddle clamp.

The water supply is then attached to the valve. A flow control dial allows the LevelSmart to be installed on both large and very small bodies of water.

Many local jurisdictions require a non-return / backflow preventer when installing fill lines or irrigation systems to city water supplies. It is the installers responsibility to check into this and to install an appropriate device if necessary. The antenna receives the signal from the sensor. With up to 1000 feet of wireless communication the LevelSmart system can be configured to work in nearly all situations and environments. If the system is located a great distance from the sensor, or if the signal is blocked, antenna extension cables are available to enable proper communication.
