Liquid Nitrogen Level Controller Alarm Cryogenics LN2

  
The AFS Autofill is a full-featured liquid nitrogen (LN2) level controller utilizing thermistor level sensing technology. The unit comes complete with 8' high and low sensor cables with dual sensors, a 24 vdc 1.25 amp switching power supply, and an 8' output cable for the fill valve. When installed in a dewar the unit will maintain the liquid nitrogen level between the high and low level sensors by switching 24 vdc power to a normally closed fill valve (not included) connected to a liquid nitrogen supply when the LN2 level reaches the low sensor and switching power off when the LN2 reaches the high sensor.

Both the high and low level sensors have dual sensing elements. If a sensing element fails the second element takes over its function. The state of the sensors are continuously monitored by the controller for both proper function and state. The controller has both local and remote alarm capability.

The local alarm is both audible and visual. The remote alarm dry contacts have both NO and NC terminals for connection to an alarm panel or are capable of switching a 3 amp load (externally fused). The controller has 3 separate internally fused control outputs. The Fill output switches 24 vdc to a fill valve when the LN. Level reaches the low sensor and opens when the LN. Level reaches the high sensor. The Low Liquid Level output switches 24 vdc to an auxiliary fill source valve when the liquid level falls below the low alarm sensor. The High Liquid Level output switches 24 vdc to an auxiliary shutoff valve when the liquid level rises above the high alarm sensor.

The controller is equipped with a One-Fill-All-Fill circuit that allows an RJ-14 cable to be connected between similar controllers on a fill header to fill every dewar on the header to save LN. By minimizing line cool down losses.

In addition to the automatic operation the controller has manual Start, with de-fog capability, Stop and Alarm Mute buttons that can be used to initiate or terminate a fill sequence or silence the local alarm buzzer for maintenance.
